Programmer / Scripter

Sovereign Studios is seeking programmers to assist with the scripting and coding of our current title, Event Alpha. An ideal candidate will possess good programming skills, design, and communication skills. This is your opportunity to work with a motivated team, developing a tactical multiplayer game.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-2 years C/C++ programming experience
  • Demonstrable skill equivalence
  • Win32+ programming experience
  • Devoted game player with strong desire to program games
  • Self-Motivated individual with willingness to learn
  • Contribute no less than 10 hrs/wk to assigned tasks
  • Attend scheduled meetings
  • Submit Progress Reports
  • Participate in forum discussion

Pluses

  • Torque programming or scripting
  • Tribes 2 Scripting
  • OpenGL, DirectX
  • 1 year Game programming
  • CVS

Candidates will be expected to:

  • Complete code and scripting tasks in a timely fashion
  • Report to the Lead Programmer and Producer of project Event Alpha
  • Communicate through IRC and Web Forums on a weekly basis
  • Inform team members of any events or situations that might provide possible obstacles to completing work or might affect your ability to remain a team member

Terms
Sovereign Studios requires all new applicants to work through a trial period of 30 days. Closing this probation period, an applicant may be extended the opportunity to accept a position offered within the company, at which time a contract may be negotiated. Applicants 18 or older only please.
