PART THREE:
One Will Be Led to Ruin Through Deception...

For hundreds of years, the humans of Earth have spread out among the stars, searching for signs of other forms of sentient life and worlds in order to settle and expand their jurisdiction. In the time that has past, they have yet to come across another sentient species, and have thus indiscriminately colonized any habitable world along their path.

A lack in number of large habitable worlds, and insufficient terraforming abilities have led Earth to maintain a vice grip on the worlds that are settled by colonists. Valuable goods and resources are claimed by Earth's ruling government, with little say going to the new world's settlers. This has led to very unfriendly feelings towards the homeworld of the human race. Unfortunately, the presence of Earth's military and isolation from other colony worlds has made it unable to truly change matters.

It would come to be that one planet would start to change the status quo. Haydon, the largest and most self-sufficient of the colonized worlds, challanged the establishment at first with rallys and demonstrations, but soon elevated to vandalism and sabatoge of Earth military equipment. The escalating conflict led to a 2 year war for independence. Being among the farthest of Earth's colony worlds, and still having to enforce the other colonies, Earth's military became stretched too thin to keep conflict continuing. Also, many soldiers began to defect to Haydon's newly formed militia, adding to their ranks. Fearing that the Haydons would try to bring their voice of independence to other planets, the Earth government initiated a cease fire...hoping to stall in order to gather up the level of force needed to decisively end this uprising. Neither side however, were aware that their exploits were being observed for years by the Shidoshan

Before the war with the Bao Masai began, the Shidoshan began covertly monitoring the race of humans on the planet Haydon, determining if this species could be contacted. By the time the war with the Bao Masai began, they knew the location of their homeworld, other colony worlds, and estimated strength of their military. They also determined that the humans shared many of their own traits, with the possible exception of their fighting ability and resolve. Viewing the Haydon's war for independence led them to beleive that the humans had a natural instinct to fight, something that the Shidoshan seemed to lack, and the Bao Masai had in abundance. With no other greater option, and desparate to break the stalemate, it was decided that the Humans will be brought into this war on the side of the Shidoshan.

Believing that the humans would not join the Shidoshan outright, regardless of what they could offer, it would be decided to bring the threat of the Bao Masai to them...by instigating a battle between Earth and the Bao Masai. The Shidoshan would then arrive to the aid of Earth, bringing new technologies, and an alliance against this now common threat. Earth, already resource-hungry and in need of technologies that the Shidoshan could offer, would no doubt jump at the opportunity, added to the danger of the Bao Masai.

In order to begin their plan, the Shidoshan would need to one of the Earth's colonies in which to stage this event. Haydon, still recovering from the war, would be too close to the Shidoshan territories for their plan to work, and possibly not enough of a lure for Earth given their recent history. The Shidoshan would choose another world, with far less military presence and remote enough to give time for this strategy, code named Event: Alpha to unfold...
